What is atomistic and Holistic approach? Can you explain in simpler terms?

Atomic=homing in upon a sole aspect of an issue, and making it the only focus to be attended to. Holism=regarding all aspects of an issue and attending to it from that stance. An atomic example might be; `He is dreadful at arithmetic. He doesn`t pay attention and just puts his head on his arms in class even though he plays with the other children after class, very energetically. He refuses to answer the math teacher, too.Clearly math is not his subject, so ( - - - - ).` A holistic example might be; `He hides his face in maths lessons.and is poorly dressed. And rubs his eyes. perhaps he needs an optical-test, and help affording glasses and doesn`t want to say so before everone.`So (- - - - ).
